BECAUSE IT MATTERS
Namsure was introduced without much fanfare in
May, but is set to become a dynamic part of the
Namibian landscape.
Namsure Insurance Brokers was born when Pointbreak
decided to offer its Namibian clients a quality shortterm
insurance solution. “We felt that the top end
of this market was perhaps under-represented and
that there was an opportunity to create something to
offer our wealth management and corporate clients.
The service levels needed to mirror the culture and
business approach of Pointbreak, which meant that
we needed quality people and
processes,” says Pointbreak’s
Pieter Laubscher.
PEOPLE
Regarding the people aspect,
Hennie Köhne was the obvious
choice to help launch Namsure.
He has 30 years experience
in Windhoek’s insurance
market and understands the
industry intimately. He started
his career as a claims clerk
at Santam, later becoming a
senior underwriter. Hennie then
joined SA Eagle as branch manager. He has been a
successful broker for 24 years, joining Namsure from
one of the leading insurance brokerages in Southern
Africa. Hennie’s experience covers personal and
commercial or corporate insurance.
Joining Hennie at Namsure is Jacky Cloete who has
13 years industry experience. Jacky has extensive
industry experience in both personal and commercial
insurance, having covered areas such as client
service, quotations and underwriting. Hennie and
Jacky have worked together for 12 years.
PROCESSES
In addition to people, the other element of a successful
brand are the business processes that ensures a
pleasant experience. These often require complex and
modern systems and processes, which is what Cape
Town insurance brokerage Snyman van der Vyver brings
to Namsure. The partnership between Pointbreak,
Snyman van der Vyver and
Hennie Köhne represents a fine
balance of expertise, experience
and energy.

Hennie finds the new challenge of Namsure exciting. “The Pointbreak and Snyman van der Vyver people
